WARSAW After reportedly beating and strangling a woman who had a no-contact order against him, a Warsaw man was taken into custody.
In addition to invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor, Justin R. Ousley, 39, 226 W. 300S, Warsaw, is charged with level 6 felonies of strangling, home entrance, domestic battery with a prior conviction, and domestic battery conducted in the presence of a child.
On June 8, a deputy from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence in Warsaw to investigate a violent altercation. A lady the deputy contacted with upon arrival claimed that Ousley had entered the house without authorization.
Court filings state that Ousley was prohibited from contacting the woman due to an active protective order against him. In October 2024, Ousley received the order.
According to reports, Ousley grabbed the woman by the throat, yanked her off the ground, and flung her onto a bed. The woman’s upper chest looked agitated, and the deputy saw red markings around her neck.
According to the woman, Ousley left the house and came back twice. She asked one of the kids to ask a neighbor for assistance.
According to a witness, she observed Ousley on top of the woman and heard shouting. She also saw the woman’s throat being grabbed by Ousley.
According to Ousley, he pushed the woman down onto the bed after she shoved him. The woman was arguing with him, so he indicated that he was on top of her to hold her in check.
During the altercation, two additional youngsters were in the house.
On June 8, Ousley was arrested at the Kosciusko County Jail.
