The University of Kentucky College of Medicine-Northern Kentucky Campus recently welcomed its class of 2029 with a white coat ceremony in the student union ballroom at Northern Kentucky University.

The UK College of Medicine held three white coat ceremonies at its campuses in Kentucky, including this one. For new medical students, the ceremonies, which took place from July 31 to August 1, represented a significant milestone.

A custom in medical school, the white coat ceremony marks a student’s official entry into the field.

Cloaked in their white coats, 35 students at the UK College of Medicine-Northern Kentucky Campus marked the symbolic beginning of their path to become doctors and their official entry into the field.

The class of 2029 marks the seventh class of medical students to receive their white coats in

Northern Kentucky

since the opening of the campus in 2019. The campus was established to expand access to medical education opportunities and address the physician shortage throughout Kentucky.
