Lori Wall wanted to give people in Northern Kentucky access to reasonably priced Spanish language instruction when she founded Spanish on the Flyin 2024.
After a year, Wall is showing that her teaching is becoming more and more popular by increasing her business into Boone and Campbell County. In August 2024, Wall, a professional with over 20 years of expertise teaching languages, opened the first physical school at 311 Elm St. in Ludlow.
Spanish on the Fly offers three levels of instruction, ranging from beginners to those seeking conversational refinement. The program includes small-group classes, individual tutoring, and themed workshops focusing on practical language skills for scenarios like travel, business, and daily conversation. Besides classes, Spanish on the Fly provides corporate training programs, which have been utilized by organizations such as Duke Energy, Cengage and Cincinnati Children s, among others.

According to Melissa Ibarra, a Spanish teacher at the Campbell County school run by Spanish on the Fly, the company’s language programs have a good impact on the community by providing individuals with the chance to push themselves while participating in an interesting activity.
According to her, there has always been a sizable Spanish-speaking population in our nation. It simply makes you aware of the difficulties that other people have when learning a language, in my opinion. You can accompany them and discover what it’s like to be on the spectrum, including the struggles to communicate.
Wall told LINK nky that although the space in Ludlow has been adequate since the company’s founding, space restrictions prevent her from teaching more than one lesson at a time. In order to better serve her expanding clientele, this led her to look for growth.
People who come to me from Florence may have to leave their homes an hour early because they don’t know what the traffic will be like to get here, she said, so I instantly felt that I wanted to be in other counties. I simply felt that was the best course of action.
September marks the opening of her Campbell County school, which is housed inside the Southgate Conference Center at 2304 Alexandria Pike. In Florence, she plans to open her next Boone County school at 7536 US-42, Suite 7, which is also the location of FIESTA NKY, a nonprofit organization that serves Northern Kentucky’s Hispanic community.
Although the Boone County school’s official opening date has not yet been announced, Wall stated that she is presently interviewing teachers for the position.
The school now provides English language courses for fluent Spanish speakers who wish to acquire English as a second language in addition to Spanish on the Fly’s expansion. Wall claimed that after being contacted by multiple companies looking to upskill their staff, the idea was born.
They (local firms) want to retain them, and they will need to improve their English if they want to advance, she said.
For Wall, the growth of Spanish on the Fly reflects more than business success; it s a way to continue bridging cultural and linguistic gaps across Northern Kentucky.
