Cincinnati According to sources, the Bengals are considering trade offers for outstanding defensive end Trey Hendrickson.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said on Sunday that because the Bengals and Hendrickson are still at a standstill, Cincinnati is considering trade offers from other teams.
“A trade will be extremely difficult, and it’s unknown if the NFL sack leader will be playing elsewhere in 2025. However, it will take time,” Rapoport wrote on X.
Contract disputes have caused friction between Hendrickson and the Bengals. At the Bengals’ annual luncheon in July, owner Mike Brown told reporters that Hendrickson “deserves a raise.” According to Brown, the team has extended an offer to him, but no agreement has been reached.
“He’s a fine player, he’s a good guy, we want him here … we’ll see,” Brown stated. “I’m not convinced that it won’t be completed. The earlier, the better, in my opinion.
Rapoport stated that it would be costly if the Bengals agreed to a trade deal for the Pro Bowl player.
“This will be expensive, likely with a young player and a future pick if possible,” he posted to X. “A challenge for sure especially because the #Bengals are a playoff-ready team.”
The Bengals have consistently taken the necessary precautions. However, time is crucial right now. This will be costly, probably including a young player and, if feasible, a future pick. Undoubtedly difficult, particularly considering that the Bengals are a squad that is prepared for the playoffs. This link: https://t.co/nauDkkCSLk
Hendrickson arrived at training camp on Wednesday, July 30, even though he had no deal. The defensive end arrived at camp wearing simple clothing, without a helmet or pads. He didn’t seem to be taking part in any exercises. Nevertheless, he took the time to sign autographs for fans who were watching.
