COVINGTON, KY They’re not free.

Furthermore, they are not careless. However, the 53-year-old non-profit group will sell you a KISS on Friday, August 8th at The Point Perk Coffee Shop (43 W. Pike Street), one of three social enterprises owned and run by the organization.

Just just a single day.

The Point-Perk’s general manager, Rachelle Ungerman, stated, “We’re celebrating The Dog Days of Summer.” We began on the first of the month by offering homemade snacks for the dogs, dog apparel, and even a vote for Pup of the Month.

A dog adoption in support of the SAAP Stray Animal Adoption Program is the main event of this Friday, August 8. That will begin at approximately 5:00 p.m., Ungerman stated.

The non-profit, all-volunteer Stray Animal Adaption Program (SAAP) was founded to rescue, care for, and safeguard pets that are in danger.

According to Ungerman, our employees at The Point Perk have excellent relationships with the dogs who come in with their owners every day. For the people that work with us here, the entire event has been a fantastic enrichment tool.

Those who work at The Point Perk have intellectual and developmental disability, or I/DD. “These pets are very motivating to these people,” Ungerman continued. We choose to hold this event for that reason.

Ungerman was eager to note that The Point Perk motivates even dogs. According to her, we observe the dogs rubbing against our windows and even dragging their owners to bring them in for their morning coffee.

“Anyone who comes in with a dog will have their picture taken and put on our wall for the entire month,” she explains. Additionally, the top three dogs selected by our employees will receive rewards.

The KISS, what about it?

According to Ungerman, the KISS is a one-time beverage that is only offered on Fridays. It’s a strawberry-flavored white chocolate mocha.

Jon Jon from KISS 107 (FM 107.1) is the best person to taste the first one. Foolishly, the price must be $1.07.

A group of parents who were battling for their children’s educational rights after receiving a diagnosis of an intellectual and developmental (I/DD) handicap created The Point/Arc in 1972. The goal is to assist individuals with disabilities in realizing their full potential in terms of education, social interaction, housing, and employment. Furthermore, even in the absence of government financing sources, The Point/Arc has been a company that finds service shortages and fills them with care and assistance.

The Point Perk located at 43 W. Pike Street, Covington opened in 2015 as a way for the community to come in for a feel good cup of c coffee and see the mission in action.
