Phyllis Manning
Phyllis A. Manning, formerly a longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the loving care of Peabody Retirement Community, in North Manchester, at the age of 96.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1928, to Frieda Lucille (Zimmer) Silveus and Clifford Ralph Silveus. Phyllis graduated from high school in 1947 in Crawfordsville.
At the young age of 19, Phyllis knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with a young man by the name of David Collin Manning. On April 28, 1948, she married the love of her life and soul mate, and they were blessed with 77 years of marriage together before David passed away on July 31, 2024.
Phyllis enjoyed worshiping alongside her church family as a member of the former Walnut Creek United Methodist Church in Warsaw.
Phyllis will forever be remembered for being a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Steve (Jerilyn) Manning, Claypool, and Denny (Pat) Manning, Warsaw. Also surviving are her beloved seven grandchildren, Jessi (Lauren Jackson) Manning, Megan Manning, Stacey (Jason) Fry, Katie (Loren) Hubbard, Mark (Katie) Manning, Jenny (Adamu) Izang and Laura (Ben) Laborde; and 16 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Elliott, Clark, Graham, Ruthie, Bekah, Josiah, Zachariah, Anap, Ayisa, Luka, Ikozi, Auta, Chloe, Colt and Juliet. She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Manning; and her granddaughter, Stephanie.
Phyllis’s life will be celebrated with a service at noon Monday, June 9, at
Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home
, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Brian Smith. Friends and family may visit prior to the service, from 10 a.m. until noon. A private family graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
