Between the Bellevue/Dayton area and the Brent Spence Bridge, the Ohio River will be restricted to all vessel traffic, both commercial and recreational, from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m., according to a notification from Boone County Water Rescue. For the length of the event, all vessels will not be allowed to pass through the region.

The swimmers will start at Cincinnati’s Serpentine Wall, swim across the Ohio River to the Kentucky shoreline on the Levee in Newport, and then head back to the Public Landing. Some will begin downstream along the Ohio shoreline, close to St. Rose Church.

Event organizers anticipate up to 250 people will participate in the swim. First responders from Kentucky and Ohio will be on the water to assist swimmers and enforce the closure.
