Hamilton, Ohio Lem Grayson, a senior running back and cornerback for Badin, is eager for the Rams’ September home opener.
The first-ever home game for Badin on campus will take place on September 5 against visiting Edgewood. It will undoubtedly be a memorable opening for Matandy SportsPlex at Lanni Family Stadium on Coach Terry Malone Field.
Every time I step up on the steps, I still find it hard to comprehend that we truly have our own field, Grayson remarked. When we drive by at night, we can see the Ram’s lights. It’s simply fantastic.
Badin, a Division III program, has the makings of a memorable season (9-3 record in 2024). Grayson, who ran for 860 yards and 11 touchdowns the previous season, is one of the important players the Rams are bringing back.
WATCH: We see Badin’s practice in the new stadium.
The Badin players and coaches have talked all summer about having a chance to show off the team’s talent at home. The stadium’s visitor side can accommodate up to 600 people, while the home side can accommodate 1,900. The stadium can accommodate up to 2,800 spectators with standing room.
According to Badin coach Nick Yordy, “I think it will sink in maybe after the season is over.” I believe that many coaches share our sentiments. We’re all still a little bit in awe. as well as shock.
For that home opener, Grayson already has some exciting planned. If he gets a chance to score a touchdown, he intends to backflip in the end zone. The atmosphere at the game on September 5th will undoubtedly be unforgettable.
“It will be packed,” Grayson stated. I am aware of that. The noise level will be high. It’s going to get insane.
According to Yordy, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the football program this preseason. Through Thanksgiving, the Rams intend to make use of their home field. The coaches and players are aware that the advantages go beyond the home regular-season games.
“Our ability to work in cold weather or in the rain,” Yordy added. In the past, I would lie in bed and attempt to figure out where we would practice if it had poured the night before. We will be at the gym or some similar location. Because the current situation was nothing more than a huge mud pit.
Because of this, the Badin school community is quite proud of a location that influences sports other than football.
“Just to consider everyone who contributed to this,” Yordy remarked. There was more than one individual. It was everyone in the town, even the graduates. It’s a unique location. I think Badin is quite great, although I’m clearly biased because I’m here. And it will be fantastic to play a real home game.
