FORT WAYNE — Wednesday, June 4, marked a years of service milestone for Lt. Corey Culler.
The Fort Wayne District Commander has served with the Indiana State Police for 30 years. He is a 1988 graduate of East Noble High School and a 1994 graduate of Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne where he earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

After graduating from the Indiana State Police Academy in 1995, Culler served the Toll Road Post where he was assigned zone 3, patrolling St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties. In 1996, he received a transfer to the Fort Wayne Post and was assigned to LaGrange and Noble Counties.
Between 1996 and 2008, Culler managed several concurrent assignments while at the Fort Wayne Post. He served as the marijuana eradication coordinator, firearms instructor and operator/assistant team leader with the North Field Operations Emergency Response Team or ERT, currently SWAT.
In 2008 the ERT was transitioned into a full-time team under the Special Operations Division and Culler was promoted to the rank of sergeant to act as the North SWAT Team Leader. In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of first sergeant and assigned as the assistant commander of the SWAT section. During his years of service with SWAT, he received two Combat Action Awards and one Life Saving Award.
In 2015 Culler graduated with class No. 260 of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., a 10-week leadership school through the University of Virginia. In 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant to serve as the district commander of the Fort Wayne Post where he continues to serve.
Culler resides in Noble County with his wife and daughter.
