- Dozens lined up early Friday for the grand opening of Florence s new Crumbl Cookies.
- Franchise owners Jaxon and Claire Tews now operate two Northern Kentucky locations.
- Store offers fresh-baked cookies with a rotating weekly menu.
Dozens of Florentine citizens waited impatiently to enter Crumbl Cookies, as a line backed up out the door. Before Crumbl’s 8 a.m. opening, the queue was already starting to develop.
It’s always exciting to see a line, according to Andrew Hall, the Crumbl area operator who has worked nine different openings.
“It was great to see that line because sometimes you don’t get the line,” he remarked.
Since its founding in 2017, the Utah-based cookie franchise Crumbl has experienced a sharp increase in popularity. It now operates 1,000 sites in all 50 U.S. states as well as Canada, demonstrating its nationwide expansion. The brand is well-known for their luscious, infamously extravagant cookies.
Franchisees Jaxon and Claire Tews run multiple Crumbl locations throughout the US. The Tews’ newest store, located at 6805 Houston Road in Florence, opened its doors on Friday.

Tews told LINK nky, “We’ve been doing it for about six years now.” The family has simply been relocating since we began our journey in Eugene, Oregon. It’s a fantastic brand, and we enjoy working there.
Several Crumbl businesses in Greater Cincinnati are currently owned by the Tews family. After their Newport store opened last summer, the Florence store is their second location in Northern Kentucky. Most of the Crumbl restaurants in the US are owned by independent franchisees.
Jaxon views the operation of Crumbl as a family business. Together with the other businesses in their expanding portfolio, he and his parents manage the store.
The most recent occupant of the space at 6805 Houston Road before Crumbl was UBreakiFix. According to the Facebook page of the real estate company, Dave Sheehy of OnSite Retail Group leased the facility to the Tews family in February.
Due to Florence’s thriving retail industry, Tews stated that finding a lease location was the most difficult part of the opening process. The family-like atmosphere of the neighborhood is one of the reasons he choose Florence for his new store.
“Just finding real estate was one of the hardest parts here,” Tews added. This is a really wonderful place to be. It took us a few years to find the location because everyone wants to be here, but it took us maybe six months after that.
Tews told LINK nky that he loves the excitement that comes with opening a new store in a new location and that the neighborhood has been very friendly to Crumbl.
According to him, the community has been fantastic. We’ve been delivering cookies to various establishments, and everyone has been really kind and delighted for us. I can sense that everyone here is supportive of one another, which is fantastic.
According to Hall, one way that Crumbl sets itself apart from the competition is by baking their cookies fresh in-store rather than in bulk.
He remarked, “What’s great about us is that, despite the fact that we are franchised, you will have a great experience and great cookies to back it up no matter which store you go to.”
The Florence store is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until midnight.
