City of Union to honor Constitution Week

Published On:

The City of Union will recognize the week of Sept. 17 through 23 as Constitution Week following an official proclamation issued by the city commission.

Delivered to your inbox every weekday morning, these are the stories that everyone in NKY will be talking about.

To commemorate the 232nd anniversary of the U.S. Constitution’s writing, Union released a proclamation on Monday. The proclamation was read in front of Lynne Demi and Peggy Kennedy, two representatives from the Daughters of the American Revolution’s Boone County chapter.

A legacy group, the Daughters of the American Revolution works to uphold American history, encourage patriotism, and aid in education.

In order to protect American rights and obligations, the proclamation exhorts Union citizens to read and think about the significance of the U.S. Constitution. Public Law 915, which mandates an annual presidential proclamation to commemorate Constitution Week, is in line with this celebration.

A copy of the proclamation will be added to the Union City Commission’s official files.
