Acrobatics, tight-wire, stilt-walking, juggling, aerial silks, and other circus skills are taught at the camp, which is open everyday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Friday at 2 p.m., there will be a public Finale Show and a pie battle to wrap up the week.
Every day, campers are required to bring their own water bottle and lunch. The program, which emphasizes physical performance, coordination, and confidence building, is open to students of all ages and ability levels.
Returning to the museum is a full-circle occasion, according to Paul Miller, creator of Circus Mojo, who previously worked as an apprentice at a circus camp hosted there in 1996.
Between my time on the circus train and Ringling’s Clown College, I worked as an apprentice for a circus camp at BCM in 1996, Miller stated in a press release.
Members of the museum are eligible for a 50% camp registration discount. The Behringer-Crawford Museum can be found at 1600 Montague Road in Devou Park.
The collaboration is in line with BCM’s community engagement objectives, according to Laurie Risch, executive director of the museum.
We are delighted to host Circus Mojo as a part of our community outreach and share our space with jugglers, acrobats, and even a few clowns, Risch said in the release.
