A $177 million settlement over two data breaches last year might result in thousands of dollars in payments for AT&T customers.
March and July of 2023 saw the announcement of the two breaches. In the first breach, 73 million consumers, both past and present, had their data, including Social Security numbers, discovered in a dark web dataset.
The phone numbers of almost all of the company’s cellular customers were compromised in the second incident.

Customers affected by any incident will be able to file a claim, according to the settlement website. An email notification will be sent to the qualified clients.
Up to $7,500 may be awarded to customers affected by both incidents.
The last day to file a claim is November 18.
