The Northern Kentucky Port Authority has received a 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Bronze Award from the International Economic Development Council.

Every Tuesday morning, all of the NKY business news is delivered directly to your inbox.

The Port Authority’s website, NKYPort.org, was honored in the Special Purpose Website category, which is applicable to businesses that serve 200,000–500,000 people. The honor will be given out at the IEDC’s 2025 Annual Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Detroit from September 14–17.

According to a news release from NKY Port Executive Director Christine Russell, the Northern Kentucky Port Authority has experienced tremendous success over the last three years, which is showcased on our two-time award-winning website. NKYPort.org informs the community about interesting projects underway and highlights our effect on the region, from building the OneNKY Center and SparkHaus to sponsoring repairs for the Purple People Bridge.

The Build + Elevate NKY investor campaign provides funding for the Port Authority, which is supervised by BE NKY Growth Partnership. Among its major initiatives are SparkHaus, a brand-new venue for innovation and entrepreneurship, and the OneNKY Center, which will house ten growth enterprises from Northern Kentucky. September is when both are scheduled to open.

The IEDC annually honors economic development organizations, government entities, and initiatives for projects that demonstrate measurable impact in their communities.
