UNION, Ky. Cam O Hara, the senior quarterback for Cooper, has heard rumors about the Jaguars’ chances of winning this season.
The Western Kentucky University verbal commit is prepared to disprove the doubters, which is not surprising. The Jaguars have advanced to two consecutive Class 5A state finals, after all.
“We’re more hungry than ever,” O Hara remarked. We have a grievance against ourselves. We know we can be as good as we can be, but people are counting us out. as well as we’d like. Simply working hard each and every day. attempting to improve daily. We’re going to do just that.
Watch as we chat with coach Randy Borchers and O’Hara before the season begins.
Cooper (14-1 in 2024) plays Anderson (15-1) on August 22 to start the season. Cooper has never played for an Ohio team before. The contest pits Anderson, Division II, against Cooper, Class 5A, the two 2024 state runners-up in their respective states.
Cooper coach Randy Borchers stated, “They have a lot of big-time players.” Therefore, we will undoubtedly assess our current situation early on. However, at the moment, our primary attention is on ourselves and our daily improvement.
O Hara is pleased with the Cooper team’s preseason trajectory. All five offensive linemen are back for the Jaguars, but key receivers from the passing offense from the previous season must be replaced.
According to O Hara, it will be thrilling to watch what we can do this year. Getting along with our new guys is important. Everyone is on board.
In 15 games with the Jaguars in 2024, O Hara passed for 3,617 yards and 52 touchdowns. He ran for four touchdowns and 186 yards.
O Hara stated, “I’m just going to do what I’ve been doing.” The ball is being thrown everywhere. I will do all in my power to run the ball.
Evan Dennison of Link NKY claims that O Hara might have a chance to join a prestigious organization by potentially being in line for 12,000 career yards of passing.According to Link NKY, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association has only accomplished that feat four times in its history.
According to Borchers, Cam handles a little bit of everything for us. That leader is him. When things aren’t going great, he kind of brings that composure to our squad. Furthermore, you are aware that he has the ability to play at any moment.
According to Cooper senior linebacker/fullback Max Wethington, O Hara contributes to the unique camaraderie that characterizes the Jaguars program.
“He’s an excellent leader,” Wethington remarked. Having that guy play quarterback is incredible.
