Experience Riverfest up close at Boom on the Bridge event

The 10th annual Boom on the Bridge event and Purple People Bridge closure is returning on Aug. 31 for the Riverfest fireworks.

The Purple People Bridge will be closed to through traffic beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 31, and reopening at 2 a.m. on September 1 in order to accommodate the event.

Boom on the Bridge, now in its tenth year, is the most distinctive method to get a close-up look of the Riverfest fireworks from the Purple People Bridge. This yearly fundraiser offers a unique experience that consists of:

  • Music by DJ TAVX
  • Dinner from City BBQ
  • Local spirits by Wenzel Whiskey
  • Local beer from West 6th Brewing
  • Local desserts from Cookiefection
  • Local Snacks from The Pretzel Place
  • Parking at Newport on the Levee
  • Private restrooms, photo ops, and custom Purple People Bridge gifts
