According to Elsmere police, at approximately 8:46 p.m. on Monday, officers were sent to Autumn Road in connection with a gunshot. A adolescent girl who had been shot in the arm and chest was discovered by officers; she reportedly passed away at the site.
The suspect informed police that he fled and unintentionally dropped the pistol at an undisclosed place, and police stated they have not located the gun used in the crime.
Officers are asking locals to keep an eye out for the gun and to dial 911 right away if they see it. In order to preserve the integrity of the DNA and fingerprint evidence, they also advised against touching the gun because they believe it is loaded.
Because of the suspect’s advanced age, authorities have not disclosed the victim’s name and will not do so now.
