County approves roof replacement for Independence library branch

Published On:

The Kenton County Fiscal Court has approved a roughly $1.4 million contract with Villa Hills-based Ashley Construction for the repair of the roof and rooftop HVAC units at the Independence branch of the Kenton County Public Library.

The stories all of NKY will be talking about, delivered to your inbox each weekday morning.

The approval occurred at the fiscal court’s meeting on Tuesday night. The money will be allocated directly from the library, but all contracts exceeding $1 million must be approved by both the fiscal court and the library’s board.

The roof is 21 years old, leaky, and in need of repair, library staff told LINK nky; ditto for the HVAC units. Ashley Construction came in with the lowest bid of the seven companies that submitted bids for the project. The library hopes to start repairs this fall and complete them before the end of June next year
