Merlin Kauffman
Merlin D. Kauffman, 78, formerly of Middlebury, died Thursday, June 12, 2025.
He was born Aug. 31, 1946. In 1965, he graduated from Bethany Christian High School in Goshen. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Merlin was a book author, entrepreneur and truck driver. For the past 30 years, he had resided in Phoenix.
He is survived by three sons, Merlin D. Kauffman Jr., North Webster, David A. Kauffman, Bourbon, and Douglas Kauffman, Goshen; one daughter, Shundiin (Nathan) Kaemmerlen, St. Louis; grandchildren, Ashley Kauffman, South Carolina, Lee Ann Piercy, Syracuse, Douglas Kauffman, Goshen, and Sophie Rose Kaemmerlen, St. Louis; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Simmons, Elkhart, R
yan Simmons, Elkhart, and Maxwell Schuelke, South Carolina; his brother, Larry Kauffman, Middlebury; and sister, Connie Kauffman, Elkhart.
Preceding Merlin in death were his father, Francis Leroy Kauffman; mother, Mabel Kauffman; and brother, Eddy Kauffman.
